Hustle – Season 8

hustle_uk-show

Done with the first 3 episodes. Not as good as the previous seasons.

  • Episode 1 - Disappointing. The way it ended was not only stupid, but completely unnecessary.
  • Episode 2 – Not TOO bad, but the way it ended was laughable (not in a good way).
  • Episode 3 – Too obvious.

Three more episodes to go, and I am hoping it picks up.

Barkha Dutt: A very good morning, ladies and gentlemen. As you can see from the super-excited response here at the Jaipur Literary Festival, I do not need to introduce, at all my next guest. We all love, admire and respect Oprah Winfrey so immensely

Err… speak for yourself, Barkha.

Not ALL of us 'love, admire and respect' Oprah. Hell, I don't even 'like' her. Annoying cunt. Yes – that is how I would describe both Barkha AND Oprah.

cellControl Locks Your Mobile While Driving

"

Trying to keep the points off your record, but just can't resist the urge to tweet, text and talk behind the wheel? Maybe it's time you gave up on that whole "self-restraint" schtick and leaned on technology to keep your cellular inhibitions in check. Scosche's cellControl might do the trick, it pairs bit of bluetooth-enabled automotive hardware with a feature-blocking smartphone app to keep your handset under lockdown when you're on the go.

Link

I couldn't be bothered to read the entire thing. I did read the above and my reaction was:

What nonsense! The whole point of a mobile is to be able to communicate while on the go. Did these guys miss the memo on that?

I am assuming that one would be able to make calls via handsfree, but what the makers of this [crap] gadget haven't thought about is – what if you ARE in the car but are not driving?!

Rocks From Mars Selling At 10 Times The Price Of Gold

"

This is only the fifth time in history scientists have chemically confirmed Martian meteorites that people witnessed falling. The fireball was spotted in the sky six months ago, but the rocks weren't discovered on the ground in North Africa until the end of December.

The new samples were scooped up by dealers from those who found them. Even before the official certification, scientists at NASA, museums and universities scrambled to buy or trade these meteorites.
"It's incredibly fresh. It's highly valuable for that reason," said Carl Agee, director of the Institute of Meteoritics and curator at the University of New Mexico. "This is a beauty. It's gorgeous."

Meteorite dealer Darryl Pitt said he is charging $11,000 to $22,500 an ounce and has sold most of his supply already. At that price, the Martian rock costs about 10 times as much as gold.

Link

A rock for 10 times the price of gold - I really don't see the point. Does anyone else? Clearly the ones who are shelling out the cash DO see the point.

They don't have a cure for cancer. Forget the cure, they still can't be sure what actually causes the abnormal cell behaviour! They are still working on a confirmed cure for the common cold. There is now a confirmed TB strain that is resistant to drugs. We still don't know how George Bush Jr. continues to survive without a working brain. Add to that - shit loads of other unsolved mysteries of this miserable world – but here they are going gaga over wanting to 'research' the rocks from Mars.

And they say I have my priorities messed up.. Ha!

Treatment Refused, Sick Girl Dies

"

NAGPUR: A 20-year-old civil engineering student of GH Raisoni College died while waiting for medical assistance as no private hospital would admit her. Ritwik Tripti, alias Sonam Mishra, was later declared dead at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). She was found in an unconscious state in the bathroom of her rented apartment at Lokhande Nagar on Sunday.

There was no injury on her. "She was alive when we picked her up. Later, her blood pressure and pulse rates were diagnosed very low. One hospital after another kept on refusing her admission," said her landlord. He added that it was still not clear how she fell down and what could have happened to her. "There was no cut on her body," he said….

People accompanying her said they had taken her to a critical care hospital in Dhantoli and two more private hospitals none of whom treated her under one pretext or another.

Link

First about the news – it would be nice to know why she was refused admission or treatment. I can believe that one private hospital staff could be idiotic enough, but the article suggests this girl was taken to quite a few hospitals and none of them treated her!

It is a little hard to believe that not a single hospital / care centre was willing to offer even IV fluids!?

Now about the way this pathetic article is presented – Please look at the headline and the opening line of the article (screenshots). Does it really matter if the girl was an engineering student or a medical student or an MBA student? How the fuck is that relevant to reporting this news?

Why am I so ticked off about the level of irrelevant details:

  • BECAUSE the article states - 'Eldest daughter of a retired senior government official, it is learnt that Ritwik was suffering from some kidney-related complexity and asthma' –

    • TOI doesn't even know what the girl was suffering from. It was SOME kidney related complexity!
    • BUT, TOI does know that she was the eldest daughter of a retired senior government official.
    • How does her being the eldest daughter of a retired senior government official have ANY IMPACT on her condition or her being refused treatment?
  • BECAUSE the article suggests she was refused treatment at two private hospitals and one critical care hospital. TOI has named just one hospital - Padole Hospital! Why weren't the others named?

According to TOI – the girl being an engineering student is more relevant than – naming the medical facilities that refused treatment to the sick girl OR reporting what she was suffering from (some kidney related complexity isn't exactly a proper diagnosis). Doesn't anyone want to know why 3 medical facilities didn't even offer her IV fluids?

Oh btw – TOI's wonderful reporting standards continue till the last line of this article:

"

Ritwik's cousin, who is in air force, reached Nagpur on learning of the incident.

The dead engineering student's cousin is in the fucking air-force. Yes THAT fact is extremely relevant to the news.

Somebody should shutdown TOI. Every single person associated with the TOI website needs to be terminated.

More Pointless Stuff

After Watches made from fossilised dinosaur feces, Crashed Ferrari Coffee Tables, Space Rings, Diamond Studded Business Cards, and shit loads of variations of bling-bling iPhones, iPods, Macbooks – we now have stuff (could be anything) made from metal recovered from the Titanic wreckage (*Rolls eyes).

At least part of the metal being used is from the wreckage. Metal for making this stuff - which will be available in limited quantity and absurdly priced - is also being sourced from Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast where the Titanic was built.

When I say anything I mean – pens, watches, cufflinks. I am sure the list won't stop here.

Lack of brains + Excess of cash = Super success for Romain Jerome and similar businesses coming out with 'unique concepts' - Exclusive crap made to target some extremely dumb people who have (most probably because of some major stroke of luck) run into shit loads of cash and just can't figure out what to do with it.

How Stupid Can You Be ?!

"

Suzanne Basham, 47, made that mistake yesterday morning when she dialed police in Springfield, Missouri to report that she had paid $40 for crack cocaine that turned out to be sugar, according to an incident report.

Basham, who was not seeking a sugar high, asked cops to arrest her dealer for theft (and, of course, secure a refund for her). While patrolmen went to the address where Basham said she purchased the crack, residents there denied selling dope and declined to let investigators into the home.

The Crazy State Of Texas

"

The US schools with their own police

More and more US schools have police patrolling the corridors. Pupils are being arrested for throwing paper planes and failing to pick up crumbs from the canteen floor. Why is the state criminalising normal childhood behaviour?

Link

I have serious doubts that the average IQ of the entire state of Texas would make it to double digits.

Disorderly Behaviour could include throwing paper planes, spraying perfume, arguing in the playground. A student could get fined or even arrested for back answering a teacher! It seems that in Texas – Kids can't be kids.

Other things that can get you arrested include – wearing inappropriate clothes, coming late to school, carrying cigarettes.

Sparring in the playground could actually get you arrested on a weapons charge (Seriously). The weapons here meaning fists. Students are actually taken to court for swearing in the school bus or punching someone in the playground.

The age of criminal responsibility in Texas is 10. And the cops can handout tickets to children over 11 years old for their UNLAWFUL activities. If the fines are not paid by the time the student turns 17 – s/he will be jailed in an adult prison!??

Paying the fine is equivalent to a guilty plea and will become part of your criminal record. In most cases – perhaps the start of one.

Some more WTF moments:

  • A teacher asked a question "where you can find bla bla", and the student responded "In your culo (ass)". The teacher could have yelled or asked the kid to get out of the class. She got the kid arrested!
  • A teenager was sent to court for throwing milk on a girl he had just broken up with. The article reports it as - they poured milk over each other – so… arrested over a food fight?!
  • Shouting within 500ft of the school property is considered disruption of class and will get you a ticket.
  • Another teacher got a 12 year old student arrested for spraying perfume – on her own neck!
  • There are reports where students were arrested for throwing paper planes.

There is a case where a 15 year old pointed an air gun at security personnel (cops) outside the principal's office. They shot him - dead. In less than 5 minutes of raising his air gun – the kid was shot at 3 times with 2 confirmed hits [Link].

There are cases where force is necessary. Like the one above. I am sure they could have just shot him in the leg or hit the kid with a rubber bullet. The cops could have used pepper spray or tased the boy.

But if the cocks cops are going to arrest students for shouting outside the school gate OR charge 12 year olds with assault for swearing in the playground – clearly the idiots believe they don't have a choice but to proceed with lethal force when it is a 15 year old with an air gun (*rolls eyes).

Yes, there are instances where a kid needs to be disciplined. But getting kids arrested for coming late to school or throwing paper planes?? There is a way to go about things and the way Texas is going about it – can't be right.

This is only going to make matters worse. I mean – if a teacher is going to call the police and have a kid arrested for abusing on the playground – he might as well punch the teacher for being a stupid cunt. Anyways he is going to get arrested, will have to appear in court and will have a criminal record. Why not make it count for something.

A good story to share in the juvenile corrections facility. I punched the ugly bitch sounds a hell lot better than I am serving time because I called my classmate an idiot.

Finally, some rest to the mind. A problem has been bothering me for a while now. I would get so annoyed when the topic would come up. Not to mention, the headache!

At times, things get sorted out all on their own.

I do wish it would happen more often. :)

I just found this… boring. Could be because of the actors. Could be because of the treatment of the plot. Can't really put a finger on it, but I have absolutely no interest in watching any more of this.

The name in the By-line (as shown in my Google Reader Feed) is Mr. Siraj Mohammed.  Clearly he needs someone to proofread his articles.

I am pretty sure he meant antiques. If not - I would really like to know how a Foolish, outrageous or amusing behaviour can be smuggled. I am sure I am not the only one who would be extremely curious about how said behaviour could be worth Millions of Dinars.

Not to mention, it would be very interesting to interact with 'antics' experts.

After Gujarat, TN Makes Chess Compulsory In Schools

"

Tamil Nadu has adopted Gujarat's strategy of introducing chess in all schools in an apparent bid to improve cognitive skills of students. The unique initiative, to be launched next academic year, is aimed at exposing students, especially those from "educationally backward" districts, to the rudiments of the game.

Link

Why is it being made compulsory?

How about just introducing the students to the game and then leaving it up to them to decide if they want to bother with it or not.

Aren't things bad enough already? There are students who have no interest in crap like Geography or Chemistry but they still have to appear for the exams for those subjects till Class X (at least). Some schools even have Sanskrit as a compulsory subject.

Hated Geography (in my view – The most pointless subject - ever). Had absolutely no interest in Chemistry. Sanskrit was annoying. If I could get away with it, I would have murdered every single one of my Art teachers over the years.

I was hoping that by now the system would allow students to opt out of subjects they weren't interested in but here we have the system including even more things under the Compulsory tab.

Can Someone Help Murtaza Runija ?

Psychiatric help prior to a job offer is suggested. But hey, that is just my suggestion.

New Picture (1)

New Picture

Link

It is an old article posted on the website in 2009 and today Murtaza runija comments on it.

A couple of things to think about:

  • What could Murtaza runija be searching for that he landed on this particular article?
  • What makes Murtaza runija think that putting up a comment like this on a public website would be a good idea?
  • What makes Murtaza runija think that the administrator of Q8NRI.com can give him any information on the job prospects or Murtaza runija's eligibility (or as he puts it – reliability) for a position in the flesh market?
  • Am I the only one who is doubtful about Murtaza runija's ability to think?

I am thinking that the administrators of Q8NRI just MIGHT decide to remove the comment from the portal, hence I have highlighted the link in the screenshots as well – just to prove that the comment was for the same article.
