Sarah Connor Chron..... - Yawn

Hmm. Just got done with watching episode 12. I watched a whole bunch of them together and it seems like this show couldn't get anymore lame than it already is.

The show gets more pointless with each episode. I really enjoyed the first season and was looking forward to the second one, but as of now, I am really hoping that they end this soon.

Wonder what's going through the writer's head(s). I read somewhere that one of the reasons for the show getting 'sucky' could be the release of Terminator Salvation (T4). That really doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever. The point is the show is really boring now.

Send Text Messages - From Gmail

A few weeks back, we ran into a few snags when we first started rolling this out, but starting today you can turn on text messaging for chat. Just click on Settings, and go to the Labs tab. Scroll down until you see "Text Messaging (SMS) in Chat" and select Enable and Save Changes.

We're just trying it out for cell phones in the United States right now, but you can send texts to your friends with US phone numbers from anywhere in the world.

Quantum Of Solace

No wit, no eye candy, no Q and no Bond (seriously). The character being played by Daniel Craig could be called Jawahar Bhandari, for all I care. Bond is more than just a name.

A watchable action movie, perhaps - but it's definitely NOT a Bond movie. Daniel Craig disappoints, yet again as Bond.

Somebody's Me

You - do you remember me?
like I remember you?
do you spend your life - going back in your mind to that time?

because I - I walk the streets alone
I hate being on my own
and everyone can see, that I really fell
and I am going through hell
thinking about you with somebody else

somebody wants you - somebody needs you
somebody dreams about you every single night
somebody can't breathe without you, it's lonely
somebody hopes that someday you will see
that somebody's me

how, how could we go wrong
it was so good and now it's gone
and I pray at night that our paths soon will cross
and what we had isn't lost
because you're always right here in my thoughts

somebody wants you - somebody needs you
somebody dreams about you every single night
somebody can't breathe without you, it's lonely
somebody hopes that someday you will see
that somebody's me

you'll always be in my life - even if I am not in your life
because you're in my memory
you - will you remember me
and before you set me free
oh listen please

somebody wants you - somebody needs you
somebody dreams about you every single night
somebody can't breathe without you, it's lonely
somebody hopes that someday you will see
that somebody's me

Nice Slap

I saw this clip a few weeks back. Today I finally got around to post it. The first clip is what actually happened during the shoot. And the second clip is what ended up being shown on the tele. Don't know how or why the guy agreed to carry on with the show. I honestly think the bitch had it coming. Whatever.. nice slap.

ek uss bewafaa ki yaad... dil se jaati nahin
aur ye kambakht maut hai... na jaane kyon aati nahin!

Sometimes Love Just Isn't Enough

There's a danger in loving somebody so much........

Log Tuut Jaate Hain, Ek Ghar Banaane Mein

Bashir Badr...

log tuut jaate hain, ek ghar banaane mein
tum taras nahin khaate bastiyaan jalaane mein

aur jaam tuutenge is sharaab-khaane mein
mausamon ke aane mein mausamon ke jaane mein

har dhadakte patthar ko log dil samajhate hain
umr beet jaati hai - dil ko dil banaane mein

faakhtaa ki majabuuri ye bhi kah nahin sakti
kaun saanp rakhtaa hai usske aashiyaane mein

duusari koi ladaki zindagi mein aayegi
kitni der lagti hai ussko bhuul jaane mein

Bombay - My Views

I put up these comments (on a forum I visit regularly), over the last few days - following the terror attack in Bombay. Just thought of putting them up on the blog as well. The thing that really got me started was - the phrase - The SPIRIT of Bombay.

I knew it was coming. It always does. The only question is, which news channel or news paper is going to put it up first. That phrase has never made sense to me (in relation to terror strikes or riots) and I doubt it ever will.

Other than that, it was a few things mentioned by my friends (on the forum) that got me typing out some statements and my views. The media - as always - proved to be very helpful in giving me more material for my posts.

Mumbai begins to heal after terrorist rampage

This crowded, bustling financial capital, wracked by three days bloodshed, slowly began puling itself back together Sunday as a once-besieged restaurant reopened its doors and Indians mourned their dead.

No, I am not saying the people of Bombay should sit at home and keep mourning. All I am saying is - the people going to work or opening for business is NOT Healing or Spirit of Bombay. It's called - majboori ka naam mahatama gandhi

paapi pet ka swaal hai.

somebody has to pay the bills. The government isn't going to pay you for sitting at home.

The minister has sent his resignation to the PM Manmohan Singh after he owned moral responsibility for the for Mumbai terror attacks that claimed more than 195 lives

Hmm and now we all feel so much better... right?

Deshmukh downplays Ram Gopal Verma, son's visit to Taj

"If my son is with me what is wrong in that? It was a big incident and he wanted to see it," Deshmukh said.

I agree, that's kind of a stupid statement to make. However, what I can't seem to understand is - if RGV did go, what's there to make a fuss over it? Even if he does make a film on it - WHAT'S THE BIG FUKING DEAL! Is only Mani Ratnam allowed to make movies on blasts in Bombay?! (for those of you who didn't get that, he made a movie titled Bombay against the back drop of the 1993 Bombay Blasts)

only official visitors were allowed.. hmmm - bomb phat gaye, log mar gaye, and NOW everyone is concerned about who is going into the hotels???

The amount of attention given to SUCH PATHETIC issues - even if HALF of that attention was directed at the borders, explosive warehouses and THE WARNINGS received, there is a good chance that some of such incidents could be avoided.

Who came to visit the bombed sites is an issue. What's the purpose of the visit - is an issue. ok.

how about:

  • who all walked into your borders?
  • the purpose of THOSE visits?
  • investigating seriously where all the missing ammo from our own military warehouses went?
  • figuring out how come it is so easy to get explosives into the bloody country and walk around the city carrying those things.

I mean, FOR A CHANGE - inn baaton pe thoda dhyaan deke dekho. Chances are - these would be more helpful in protecting the people as opposed to - why RGV was walking around the Taj.

Pak .. or an inside job... US and/or Israel... political gains. Tonns of theories to chose from.

In my view - that is to be worried about at a later stage. Simply because, there is absolutely no way in hell this could have happened without help from inside our own borders - be it by a minister or by a greedy patrol man or a corrupt official and definitely a total breakdown of the security and intelligence system. Well, you can call it breakdown or you can refer to it as exposing their incompetence. Take your pick.

This wasn't like an international flight was hijacked and rammed into the building. The problem lies WITHIN. The sooner we admit THAT, the sooner we can proceed towards remedial and preventive measures.

But we would be content with - proposing and entertaining - conspiracy theories and be satisfied with elections and resignations. Sigh... such simple souls.

that.. is the sad truth - maano ya na maano.

Jaane Woh Kaise

jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyar ko pyar mila
humne to jab kaliyaan maangi - kaaton ka haar mila

khushiyon ki manzil dhoondi to gham ki gard mili
chhaahat ke naghme chhaahe to - aahen sard mili
dil ke bojh ko dugna kar gya - jo gham-khaar mila

bichhad gayaa har saathi de kar pal do pal ka saath
kisko fursat hai jo thhaame deewanon ka haath
hum ko apna saaya tak aksar bezaar mila

isko hi jeena kehte hain to yun hi jee lenge
uff na karenge, lab see lenge, aansu pee lenge
gham se ab ghabraana kaisa, gham sau baar mila

'Wanted' Bullets - Could Be Real

Anybody remember the movie Wanted. I am sure you guys would remember the cool bullets. Well, Lockheed and Martin are trying to come up with bullets that can change course.. midflight.

What if a sniper could fire a bullet that changed course in midflight, to hit its target? The Pentagon is handing out nearly $22 million to try to find out.

Darpa, the Defense Department's far-out research arm, announced a pair of contracts last Tuesday, to start designing a super, .50-caliber sniper rifle that fires guided bullets. Lockheed Martin received $12.3 million for the "Exacto," or Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance, project, while Teledyne Scientific & Imaging got another $9.5 million.

Windows Live Writer - On My MacBook

Not really that difficult. :D

Installed VMware Fusion, then installed Windows XP on the virtual partition, and then downloaded Windows Live Writer. Perhaps one of the very few applications that Microsoft managed to get right.

To be honest, the only reason I bothered getting the virtual machine thing on my MacBook was only so that I could use the Live Writer.
