The official version is out. I just got done installing it and it seems to be working fine on the Curve.

Display Pics, Profiles, Subject for BBm Chat session, Bar Code. Well, in short - more bells and whistles.

No lag.

Just to be on the safer side, take a backup. In case things don't work out, you can always restore to the previous version, and not lose your BBM Contacts.
