Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

poster_2524

Typical bollywood masala movie. No, I wasn't expecting anything else. It was watchable for a while, but then they had to put in zabardasti ki story. It was obvious that the story was being pointlessly dragged on. Seemed like an Ekta (bitch) Kapoor serial for a while.

See, THIS is star power (no, I am not a Shahrukh fan, but I will not deny the obvious). I mean, total crap movies like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om became superhits. These were horrid movies without any plot whatsoever. All they needed to become big hits was SRK and a star crazy population that has completely stopped thinking and has a serious lack of taste.

RNBDJ is at least watchable till a little before the interval. That's a reasonably big achievement for a bollywood movie (considering the recent crap).

The worst part is... I am going to have to watch this crap again with my family in the theatre (most probably - I will be walking out of the theatre before the interval).

lack of taste is an understatement......

There are some heroes who just makes you forget your daily worries and let's you get into a wonderland where you just enjoy the show without any logic, plot what ever :P

Even Rajni does it, and dude, we all love it.

Not every movie need to be Oscar material(btw, I don't believe in their judgments about a movie, mostly, it sucks!)

IMHO, we really need some wacky movies :P like these, time pass re :P

Hey Agnel, Thanks for your comments.

Wacky movies.. hmm yes, I do see your point. BUT - have you had a look at what Bollywood has been churning out (for a while now). All Wacky movies. Interestingly enough - most of them weren't intended to be wacky.. they just got wacky along the way.

See... once in a while if a wacky movie comes along - it's cool.

once in a while if SRK does a repeat performance - of Raj / Rahul character - it's cool.
If in every third movie - SRK does the same 'look back over the left shoulder, drop a tear' ACT - EVEN that would be acceptable - to an extent.

BUT - if it's every movie - come on re. This is NOT time pass re. ;)

See - even Govinda / David Dhawan flicks had their fan followings. I am all cool with it. I hated those flicks - but they were intended to be wacky and were produced for a particular type of an audience.

RNBDJ - for me - is not wacky.. it's pointless - irritating - stretched out without a reason etc.

Anushka Sharma looks a lot better - when she has appeared on the tele to promote the film. In the movie - she looks.. err.. not THAT good. In fact - towards the end of this Ekta Kapoorish Needlessly Lengthy Crap - Anushka actually reminds me of Amisha Patel.. (No, I don't like Amisha Patel. Everytime she comes on screen - I just KNOW that she is going to start screeching and / or crying).

RNBDJ - didn't do it for me. It was just too BLA ..
