Yet Another Bullshit PIL

"

The public interest litigation was filed by Antony Kalarikkal Paul of Kakkanad, who is the vice president of an NGO Kerala Madyavarjana Samithi Shanti Sena Council.

According to Antony, the smiling face of the Mahatma is etched in the memory of every citizen, and he remembers the face of the Mahatma to be so when he met him long ago in Kerala. However, three statues of the Mahatma that have been erected in Kochi city do not show him smiling, his petition said.

Gandhi Fanboy Antony puts up a few more points in his PIL.

Personally, I couldn't care less about Gandhi's statues being removed. I would be happy if most (if not all) statues were removed (not just Gandhi statues). I just don't see the point. Waste of space. Serves no purpose. I mean… if it were a beautiful sculpture or something along artistic lines, perhaps I would like to look at it (preferably in an art gallery and not in the middle of the road. Of course in some cases - exceptions can be made).

That said, I don't see how a political personality or a partially dressed bald old man with a stick qualifies as 'art' (Guess I have a different taste when it comes to art). But, filing a PIL??

Dikhaawon pe mat jaao, apni akal ladaao.
