At An Appropriate Time!!

"

Army chief General VK Singh wrote to the Prime Minister earlier this month, warning that Army tanks have run out of ammunition and that obsolete technology is putting the country's security at risk. The letter was raised in Parliament today, leading to more embarrassment for Defence Minister AK Antony.

He said the Army chief's letter was meant to be "top secret" and that the government will respond to it  "at an appropriate time."

On March 12, the General wrote to the Prime Minister asking him to "pass suitable directions to enhance the preparedness of the Army".  The chief described the state of artillery, air defence, and infantry as "alarming." He writes the army's tanks are "devoid of critical ammunition to defeat enemy tanks" and air defence is "97% obsolete and it doesn't give the deemed confidence to protect... from the air."

General Singh wrote to the Prime Minister after sending a similar letter a few weeks earlier directly to the Defence Minister.

The Army Chief General says that the army's tanks are devoid of critical ammunition and the Defence Minister says – the government will respond at an appropriate time!

Waah.

There is a possibility that the Army Chief General could be exaggerating. Given the recent (dragged) public drama that took place between the Army Chief and the government, this wouldn't be a surprise.

But the Defence Minister's idiotic response is a lot more than just surprising.

I have said this before as well – DOOB MARO!

He is the one who put up his hands on his head when the Gen first approached him regarding the bribe. Anthony can do nothing and that is why he was recruited for this post. The ministry only wanted him only for his clean image.

I pray he resigns.

The morons in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha are more interested in "who leaked the details of the 'Top Secret' letter".

I do agree that THAT needs to be addressed and resolved. BUT it is definitely more important to ask the idiotic Defence Minister to "at least investigate the General's claims. If the army is indeed out of ammunition, how does he propose they defend the country??" Or is it that Antony believes the "appropriate time" will be when war is actually declared?

Investigating the leak is also as important as setting things right.... if letters which bare the pathetic condition of our army can be leaked then nothing is secret.

This government needs to go.. and one is willing to put up with a dictator.. maybe Modi?

If the General leaked the info - Then penalise him. If the leak was from the PMO, then take necessary steps (whatever that may be).

Flipping the govt. Well, I am not sure another government would be any different.

If not this, then there will be other issues. They are all the same. Equally incompetent. Some are more idiotic than others.

Antony's response as 'Govt. will respond at an appropriate time' should have been enough to demand his head. But what happened - Everybody wants the General sacked!

Arrey - at least check if he was exaggerating or the situation is as pathetic as reported.
