Duplicity

Picture 1

Promos for this movie were very interesting (and misleading, as it turns out – for me at least). The editing leaves a lot to be desired. This movie tests the viewer’s patience. It’s just over 2 hours when it really didn’t need to be.

It does start off rather well, but it never gets going. Predictable and not in a good way. You don’t feel good when you see on screen what you have already figured out, simply because it’s been dragged on so much already. Instead of going ‘yess’ one is more likely to sigh and say ‘finally’

There was really no need for the confusing time lines. Too many flashbacks aren’t always cool. There were times when I wanted to slap around Julia Robert’s character. It was like - Would you please just shut up and get on with the next scene (pitch of my voice rising with every word).

Paul Giamatti – I am a fan. But there was just the scene in the end that caught my attention. The rest of it was just blaaaa.

It’s watchable. Just wasn’t enjoyable for me.
